Why I Created This Course

Over the past few years, I’ve been quietly sharing my business systems with artist friends—simple, soulful ways to sell, license, and expand the impact of their art. I’ve watched them light up with new possibilities, feel energized by my passion, and gain real results by applying what I shared. Their excitement inspired me to bring this to more artists.

I created this course because I’ve seen too many creatives burn out in the make-sell-repeat cycle. There’s a smarter, more sustainable way. One that honors your creativity, leverages what you’ve already made, and supports your well-being while generating income—again and again. This is the new model. And I’m here to help you step into it.

What Women Create Magazine, Fall 2024

This full-length feature in What Women Create Magazine offers a glimpse into my studio, my process, and my deep belief in art as a healing path. As a working artist with over two decades of experience, I’ve learned how to build a thriving, soul-aligned career—and now I’m here to help you do the same.

What I would tell other people about taking this workshop with Deb Chaney was an opportunity to “play” in a safe supportive environment. Deb exhibited fantastic energy while teaching and a well thought out pace. There was time to reflect and learn, as well as work. Lots of opportunities to experiment. Deb is such a generous spirit. Her desire to share her knowledge is simply a joy to be around.

Deb Chaney

Deb Chaney is a professional contemporary abstract artist whose work explores the intersection of creativity, healing, and personal empowerment. Known for her richly layered mixed media paintings, Deb’s art has been featured in Where Women Create Magazine, Netflix, Hulu, and Style at Home. Her collectors include Hilton Hotels and numerous private and corporate clients around the world. Deb is the artist behind West Coast Abstracts, a permanent large-scale public art installation in North Vancouver featuring four 16' x 10' hand-painted tile panels created in collaboration with Adera Developments (Canada) and Viuva Lamego (Portugal). She has been named one of Vancouver’s top 10 contemporary artists to watch and has exhibited in galleries in Vancouver and Los Angeles. Her artwork has also been spotlighted multiple times on the cover of Saatchi Art’s online gallery. With over two decades of lived experience in the art world, Deb brings both the soulful and strategic sides of being an artist into this course. Her teachings blend intuitive creativity with grounded business practices, offering a unique path for artists ready to thrive professionally while staying aligned with their inner truth.

West Coast Abstracts - public art installation

This large-scale public art installation—West Coast Abstracts—was commissioned by the City of North Vancouver and Adera Developments, and created in collaboration with Portuguese tile masters Viúva Lamego. It’s a powerful example of how abstract art can transform public space and how artists can step into high-level, paid opportunities.

“I am so thrilled to write a testimonial for Deb Chaney as an instructor. I have just completed an 8 week abstract painting in acrylics course with Deb through the Gabriola Recreation Society on Gabriola Island. I am a retired teacher with a BEd in Art Education from UBC and an MA in Visual Art from the University of Wales in Aberystwyth. I have had a great deal of art training from amazing instructors such as Gordon Smith. Deb has not disappointed as she is organized. Each lesson is planned and follows the course outline provided. Deb sets a positive, relaxed atmosphere with music, quotes and examples of art from art history and her own paintings. Each individual is encouraged to apply their individuality when painting. Deb is a practicing artist who paints with passion and sincerity which is very contagious! I leave class wanting to paint and live a creative life. I hope Deb will teach more courses as I feel there is so much more to learn from her.”

Ready to Take Your Next Aligned Step?

Your art. Your spirit. Your business. This journey is for artists ready to move forward with clarity and support.

"One of the most important factors — if not 'the most' important factor for the success of an artist is the support of others. To have people on your side is instrumental to your success. For me, one of these people has been Deb Chaney. Over the past few years Deb's encouragement and eagerness to support my goals has been unparalleled. Deb approaches the art industry and her own work with tenacity and strength, that she enthusiastically offers to other artists in her coaching. I have become a better artist because of Deb's coaching and I cannot recommend Deb enough!"

- Lisa Penz, Professional Artist & Actress, Vancouver, Canada

Artwork Rented & licensed to TV and Film

Paintings of mine were licensed and rented for the Hulu and Netflix productions—a reminder that when your art is aligned and visible, unexpected opportunities can arise. In this course, I’ll teach you how to position your work for moments like this.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve already taken art business courses. What makes this one different?

Most courses focus on pricing, marketing, or sales funnels. This one is different. It teaches artists how to leverage already-created work and images to generate multiple income streams—like licensing, art rentals, public art, and more. You’ll also learn how to support your creative business with spiritual tools, systems, and self-nourishment, so you can thrive long-term.

  • Will I learn how to sell my original artwork?

No, this course doesn’t teach you how or where to sell original art. However, when you align spiritually and apply the systems shared in this course, your visibility and confidence often increase—sometimes resulting in organic sales. But that’s not the focus here. This course is about scaling income through your existing creations.

  • I’m tired of feeling like I have to constantly create something new. Will this course help?

Yes—but with a deeper perspective. As artists, ongoing creation is part of our evolution. But when that creativity flows from joy, spaciousness, and a well-supported nervous system, it becomes a nourishing practice—not a pressure. This course helps you build a sustainable structure so your art-making is rooted in love, not hustle.

  • I’m not very tech-savvy. Will I be able to keep up?

You’ll need a basic comfort level with using a computer and the internet. From there, we’ll guide you step-by-step. You’ll learn how to use AI tools to support your business and tap into help from the Universe, your inner wisdom, and even your angels. You're not alone.

  • Do I have to already be a full-time artist to join?

Not at all. This course is for emerging and established artists alike—anyone ready to take their art to the next level. Whether you’re just beginning to put your work out into the world or evolving your current practice, this course will meet you where you are.

  • Is this course focused on marketing and social media?

No. While we’ll touch on visibility, this is not a marketing course. Instead, we focus on building a resilient foundation, exploring aligned income possibilities, and guiding you to create from a place of ease and inner clarity.

  • How much time will I need to commit each week?

Expect to spend about 2–4 hours per week. Each module includes a short lesson, meditation or visualization, and one “Next Step” action prompt. We also have optional live Zoom calls where you can connect with Deb and the community.

  • Will I get personal feedback or support?

Yes. You’ll be invited to weekly live Zoom calls where you can ask questions, receive guidance, and connect with fellow artists. There’s also a supportive group space for sharing wins, challenges, and encouragement.

  • What if I don’t finish everything on time?

No rush. You’ll have extended access to the course materials, 3 months total, so you can revisit at your own pace. This journey is about integration, not urgency.

"Deb is a very passionate teacher. You learn a lot of different techniques to implement in your abstract paintings. You are welcomed into a group without any judgement or expectations put on you. How I can apply what I learned here today in my art and my life: I can have more fun with paints and collage “props”. It will bring more joy to my creativity and expressing myself through art. It's not only about art in this place it's about harmony in life.”
